Don't you hate when you open up a bill and it is more than you expect? ? Well that happened yesterday with Kohl's. I pay it off every month, wrote down the whole amount in Quicken and in my check book but for some reason on on-line bill pay only paid around half. I remedied it today but whether or not they waive the finance charge is questionable. Keep your fingers crossed.
On a happier note I found the missing $25.00 gift card today.
And the $624+ dollar bill for routine bloodwork is being resubmitted to insurance. I added up the costs they billed for a physical and it wa over $1000.00. That doesn't sound like industry standard to me.

Free Parking
We went down to China Town for Dim Sum this afternoon and found a place to park on the street as opposed to paying $8.00 for the lot. So that's good.
Then we took the girls to redeem their Christmas gift cards and I LOST a $25.00 gift card that was given to one of them. So of course I let her spend $25.00 anyway. And because the 5 year old picked out the merchandise it was $25.00 of junk. So that's bad.
So the total for today is $17.00 in the red.

Bedtime Stories
Today we went to see the movie Bedtime Stories. We didn't get our act together to make it to the matinee so Rob and I paid full price. So that's around $5.50 that we didn't have to spend. But we also snuck in our own popcorn, water and diet coke so I'll just call the whole thing a wash.
Free Parking
So last night we took 3 9 year olds and a 5 year old to see Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo. And we found a parking spot on the street as opposed to shelling out the bucks at the lot. Even though we spent on the carousel ride and drink there is always free admission.
So for me this counts as another $10.00 in the black.

Free starbucks ! ! !
I am going to try to keep track of the things I get for free versus those I waste money on and see how I fair each month.
For starters I just filled out a customer satisfaction survey from starbucks. When I redeem it -that's one free latte (or approximately $3.00 in the black).
